First, the stock does fine, but soon... poor Homer... the company went bankrupt and Homer loses ALL his money. Homer keeps on thinking of ways to get the money back. Barney suggests that he go to the local research facility: The Screaming Monkey Labatory. While the researchers sutides Homer's head X-ray, they discover that there is a crayon stuck in his brain. When the crayon is removed, his IQ improved dramatically. He know enjoys what Lisa enjoys... go to the library and read books. But nothing every goes well for Homer, when he sends a report to the government about substandard saftey conditions at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, Burns laid off everyone. Everybody hated Homer for that, for intelligent became an obstacle between him and his friends/collegues. Homer is unwelcome from Moe's Tavern, thrown out of a movie theatre for pointing out the plot with his intelligence. Although he connected with Lisa in a meaningfull way, he took the cowards way out and wants to return to his dumb self. The researches refused to help, so they suggested Homer to go to the unlicensed surgeon... Moe Slyzlack (That's right! I'm a surgeon!). The crayon is lodged inside Homer's brain again... When he returns home with his unintelligency, Lisa finds a letter that Homer wrote before the operation, saying how much he appreciated her. Memorable Conversations: Homer: Animation is so great... It's way better than... whatever the alternative is... Homer: Wait a minute... was that cat making out with that mouse? Cause if they were... grrr..... Bank Associate: Here's your candy... Homer: (Grabs candy) So long sucker...! Bank Associate: Uh... sir... your life savings... Homer: Ah yes... I see they are in bill form! Excellent! Computer: For automated stock prices, please state company name. Homer: Animotion. Computer: Animotion. Up one and one-half. Homer: Yahoo! Computer: Yahoo. Up six and a quarter. Homer: Huh? What is this crap? Computer: Fox Broadcasting. Down Eight. Homer: Sleep tight... my beloved... you're my ticket out of this HELLHOLD! Marge: HOMER! Homer: Sorry... OUR ticket out of this hellhold... Kent Brockman: Turning to the stock market, Animotion if up eight... Homer: YES! Kent Brockman: After plunging 75 points this morning... Homer: Ohhh.... I hope plunging means up and 75 means 200! Homer: I have a great way to solve our money woes! You rent your womb to a rich, childless couple. If you agree, signify by getting indignant. Marge: Are you crazy? I'm not going to be a surrogate mother! Homer: C'mon, Marge, we're a team. It's uter-us, not uter-you. Marge: Hm. Forget it! Researcher: That appeitite depressant is amazing! Researcher B: Homer... you really have no desire to eat that food? Homer: Food.... FOOD! I'm blind! AHHHH! AHHHH! Researcher: Who's gonna buy a pill that's gonna make you blind? Researcher B: We won't have marketing worry about that! Researcher: Mr. Simpson, this could be responsible for your subnormal intelligence (the crayon). Homer: Hey, I came here to be drugged, electrocuted, and probed, not insulted1 Researcher B: We could remove the crayon for you. It could vastly improve your brainpower... or it could possibly kill you. Homer: Increase my killing power, eh? Let's do it! Homer: Now, who's up for a trip to the library tomorrow? Notice I no longer say 'liberry' or 'tomorry'." Homer: So you all hate me? Lenny: That's right, Brainiac! You cost us our jobs, which we need for workin'! Carl: Not to mention drivin' to! Moe: And I was a lot happier before I knew Dame Edna was a man... a lot happier. Moe: (shoving crayon up nose deeper and deeper) All right, tell me when I hit the sweet spot. Homer: Deeper, you pusillanimous pilsner-pusher. Moe: All right, all right. Homer: DEFENSE! Grunt! Grunt! DEFENSE! Grunt! Grunt! Moe: That's pretty dumb... but... uh... Homer: Extended warranty? How can I lose? Moe: Perfect. Notes: The Simpsons attend the "Totally Sick, Twisted, F***ked-up Animation Festival". The two robots of Japanese Animation are Meganot and Princess Tempura. Homer bought his cowbell from Ebay. Booths seen at the animation festival include "Happy Little Elves", "Radioactive Man", "Veggie Tales", "Trek Toons", "Cel-Out", "History of Animation", "Itchy and Scratchy", "3D Training Videos", "Poochie!", and the "Lance Murdock Cartoon Show". Barney has five ears grown on his chest. The food offered to Homer during the experiment are cakes, donuts and hamburgers. 16 crayons were lodged up into Homer's brain during his childhood. The logo for the First Bank of Springfield is BS. Cletus tries to crack a turtle open with a copy of Trinity by Leon Uris. Signs that Homer passes while in search of a place for people with high IQs: "Smart People Not Welcome", "Dum-Dum Club", "Lunkheads - A Place for Drooling" and "Disney Store". The title fo this episode and some of the plot comes from the 1968 movie Charly, a story about a mentally challenged man who gains incredible intelligence by taking a research drug, only to lose it all and become intellectually inferior again. |
